I’m trying to disconnect this week while I’m home with my family so you’ll be hearing less from my on Twitter and Facebook, but I have lots of blog post ideas for each early morning while my parents are asleep. We had torrential rain yesterday which meant most of our day was spent reading and relaxing on my parents’ screened in porch. During our flight this weekend I had a chance to catch up on blog reading. One of my favorite posts I read was Tina’s fun 25 Things You (Probably) Don’t Know About Me. Even though we’ve been friends in real life for quite a few years now, it was fun to learn a few new random facts! It inspired me to do a similar post for you guys, featuring 20 things you may not know about me!
1. I’m an emotional and very sensitive person.
2. I do not like any melons- watermelon, honeydew, & cantaloupe.
3. I have the nose of a bloodhound. In fact, maybe that is what I was in a past life.
4. I sprawl out across the entire bed, whether it’s a twin size bed or king size bed. God bless Bo, who has to deal with this habit on a nightly basis.
5. I am exceedingly flexible due to years of dance at an early age.
6. I’ve been to every US state except Alaska.
7. I once slept in a sleeping bag and tent for 56 straight nights.
8. I am scared of heights when it comes to diving boards, roller coasters, etc. In fact, I have never made it off of a diving board higher than 1 meter.
9. I have very neat handwriting and still prefer the written word to the typed word.
10. My favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast.
11. My first car was a stick shift 1986 Honda Accord. Unfortunately, I failed to yield on a left hand turn within days of getting my driver’s license and wrecked that car.
12. Until October of senior year in high school, I wanted to to be a pediatrician.
13. My first-official job was writing for Savannah Morning News.
14. I have no musical ability, in fact, I am tone deaf.
15. My first kiss was when I was 16 years old, and I am still, to this day, friends with a guy on Facebook.
16. I studied abroad in Cadiz, Spain the Summer of 2004.
17. I have watched Grey’s Anatomy since the first season, when my sorority sisters and I would watch it from our living room couch together each week.
18. Even though I know it is horrible for me, I still drink 3-4 Coke Zero or Diet Cokes each week around 3pm. If that’s my worst vice, I think I’m doing pretty well in life.
19. If I could take a few foods with me on an island it would be Bo’s Guacamole with Xochitl tortilla chips, bananas, my mom’s salted chocolate chip cookies, Diet Coke, and Whole Foods salted Almond Butter. Clearly I wouldn’t live that long.
20. My “happy place” is being on or near the water with friends or family.
What is a random fact that most of your friends don’t know?
#4. Figure 4 sleepers! We’re not sharing a bed this weekend, are we?
#9. Your handwriting is impeccable.
Nope, no bed sharing this weekend. 🙂
Your hatred of melon haunts me every time I make fruit salad for a group! 😉
Oh Meg this comment made me laugh so much! 🙂 It is just another reason why I love CFA – no melon fruit cups!
I really want to hear the story behind spending that long in a tent! That’s a LONG camping trip! Lol
Yes Amber that was a very long camping trip! I’ll have a dedicated post all about it soon!
#7. Uhh tell more about this? Haha.
Haha Annie I will definitely do a dedicated post about this one!
I love this list! Welcome back to the States. Enjoy your time at home. xox
Thanks Jen! We are having a BLAST at home!
I’ve watched Grey’s since Season 1 too! (And still do.) Love this!
Thanks Kristine! I loved it more this season than I have in years!
I move around in my sleep a lot and sometimes sleep walk/talk.
Hah Kristi! God bless anyone who has to share our beds with us! 🙂
#18 that is how I start off my morning.
For #7 were you a girl scout? I know someone who was and they did something similar one summer when we were younger.
Nope Tracy it had nothing to do with Girl Scouts even though I was a Girl Scout for 13 years!
This has got to be my favorite post of yours. While I enjoy reading your European rendezvous, this post was rich and I’d love to hear more about each point! Also, I’m totally on board with #1 – please keep writing and sharing. Enjoy home!
Oh my gosh Traci, thank you so much! I guess you’re right about sharing each point in more detail. Now I have a few great blog post ideas. 🙂
I love this kind of post, too! So fun. Your favorite foods in #19 all sound delicious. Have you ever posted Bo’s guacamole recipe?
And the salted chocolate chip cookie recipe please!! There was a little café near my old job that made the best ones…and I haven’t been able to replicate that perfect chocolate/salt balance since!
Here is the recipe I use most often Tiffany http://www.healthyhappierbear.com/2011/02/16/salted-chocolate-chunk-cookie-recipe/
My soon to be mother-in-law also hates all melons and I always thought she was nuts for missing out on delicious watermelon…but apparently she’s not the only one 🙂
Also, I’m now curious about #12….I’m guessing something happened since you remember so specifically when you changed your mind?
Yay for UGA en Espana 2004!
Can you believe it was 10 years ago Ashley!?
Agreed that this is one of my fav posts… I didn’t know a lot of this 🙂
