Today at work I had a near panic attack when I realized that the marathon is quickly approaching. The best way to calm my nerves is to start checking things off my list so at least I can put all those worries aside. Therefore, tonight as soon as I walked through the door I packed all my race day essentials in one bag so they are easy to access and nothing gets lost.
It’s amazing how much lighter my shoulders and entire body feel now that my bag is packed. I truly feel ready to go! There are no last minute errands I have to run as I have everything I need to rock out 26.2 miles with my race day ladies, Kristin and Meghan!
Since I only trust marathon Sunday with my favorite running gear, I figured I share exactly what gear will carry me across 26.2 miles from top left, clockwise:
- CamelBak HydroBak (similar but not exact)
- Lululemon Swiftly Tech long sleeve t-shirt already printed from last year’s marathon (FYI, last year I was sponsored by Choose Cherries but love the shirt so much that I figured this would
- Zensah Compression Leg Sleeves in neon pink
- Lululemon Free to Be Bra
- Garmin 405 and charger
- iPod shuffle
- Glide
- CW-X Compression shorts
- Sparkly Skirt in neon pink
- 3 packs of GU and 2 packs of Shotblocks
- Asics sweat band
- Brooks Adrenaline 13
- Sparkly Soul headband in ice pink
- Socks
What piece of gear do you rely on come race day?
Is that a Free to Be or an Energy Bra? I only ask because the Free to Be isn’t super supportive, so I would be impressed if it works for you for running such a long distance! My go-to for every single race is the Energy bra!
Can’t wait to see you kill this race!! xoxo
They sold me on this one but I’ve just packed me Lululemon bra from last year as now I’m worried. 🙂
My essentials are usually my Garmin, iPod, whatever shoes I’m using at the moment, and my lucky Phillies hat. I tend to wing it on the clothes, but for Sunday I made sure to set aside my outfit when I finished my laundry earlier in the week. Good luck Sunday! You are going to rock the marathon I’m sure!
I love that your lucky Phillies hat is part of your wardrobe! Thanks for the words of support!
Ashley, I’m going to look for you at the race, I’m running the half (my first half ever!). You are going to kick those 26.2 miles in the butt!
I wear pretty much the same thing for every race. Now that the weather is getting chillier I have retired my Lululemon skirt and will instead have Lululemon capris, my blue sparkle skirt and my “I Love Sweat” shirt.
Good luck!
Oh Stephanie I so hope we see each other! You are going to ROCK the half marathon! 🙂
I always make sure I have my i-pod… I have trouble running without one so it’s def an essential. Also my shoes and sports bra. hehe
Yes, an iPod and new playlist is essential!
Maybe you’ve already done a post about this (please direct me if that is the case) but why did you choose gu and blocks, and how do you distribute on race day?
Katie, I haven’t done a post on it but I started doing it during long runs this summer. I get tired of the GU texture so it’s a way to change it up. I fuel every 4.5 miles.
Good luck good luck!! I am loving that sparkly skirt, so much fun!
Thank you so much! I am so thankful I was able to borrow the sparkly skirt!
