Happy Saturday!
This weekend is an unexpected weekend in NYC as we were supposed to be down in Chapel Hill celebrating two of our high school friends’ wedding. Unfortunately due to Bo’s work schedule that just couldn’t come to fruition and therefore I had to call Delta early yesterday morning to cancel our trip. I guess things work out for the best though because Delta was kind enough to send me this alert this morning, bright and early, even though we cancelled our trip!
The unexpected free weekend will hopefully allow both of us time to catch up and relax. Yesterday I was able to enjoy a Summer Friday to it’s fullest.
- Awesome Equinox class (Body Sculpt with Lou Ideker at 54th and Lex)
- What to Expect When You’re Expecting with Meg and her roommate
- Wine and relaxing on our couch with Theodora
- Dinner and drinks at Rye House with Theodora, Laura, Brad, Leticia, and Bo
The rest of our weekend plans include a run this morning, checking out Nike’s Celebration of Sports event on Pier 46 this afternoon, finally cashing in a Rue La La blowout, and celebrating our friend’s 30th birthday tonight!
But, last but not least, I have an exciting giveaway to share with you guys. As you may recall, Nature Made provided me with the awesome opportunity to enjoy yoga in Times Square this week. In addition, they want to make it easier for one of my readers to find their OM this summer whether it’s on the beach, in your house, or in Times Square!
One lucky reader will receive the same gift bag they sent me and Theodora, chock full of awesome and useful gifts!
- Vitamin D w/portable key chain and bottle
- Flip flops
- Beach Towel
- Beach bag
- Sunscreen
- iPod speakers
- Nature Made Water Bottle

My summer to do is to add yoga into my workout mix. I love to run, and improved flexibility would be amazing!
Since I’m very fair and spend most of my outdoors time coated in sunscreen and in a very large hat and otherwise trying to avoid the sun, I love my Vitamin D supplement.
My summer plans include a lovely two week break to watch Olympic coverage non-stop! It’s hard to beleive the summer Olympic Games only come around once every four years. They are so much fun and I can hardly wait.
I take and love biotin. My nails would be sooo thin without it!
My summer to-do list includes hitting up the farmer’s market in front of my apartment building weekly to get as much fresh, seasonal produce as possible!
On my summer to-do list is to NOT get sunburned (by wearing plenty of sunscreen!!)
I swear by a probiotic every day together with my gummy multis (who doesn’t like ‘candy’ for breakfast) and fish oil.

My favorite supplement is biotin. It has definetly helped keep my hair and nails feeling strong and healthy.
I take fish oil and a lot of walking.
I’ve taken vitamin c for forever. I know that the literature says that it really doesn’t help prevent colds but everytime I run out and don’t refill it right away – I get a cold. I don’t care if it is psychological.
My favorite supplement that I take is definitely cranberry extract – totally saves me from getting UTIs every five minutes (sorry, TMI?)
Summer to-do list: definitely going to a beach. I am not going on vacation this year to Florida, so I’ll have to go somewhere close by!
The only vitamins I take are Trader Joe’s calcium chews. Let’s be honest, I take them because they’re chocolatey caramel goodness, but I need to get all the calcium I can to keep my bones healthy!
Summer to-do list: Take and pass the bar exam in July, then celebrate with a trip to Hawaii!!
A runner I’d love to see featured – Janae from hungryrunnergirl if you haven’t featured her already. I don’t plan on having kids for a while but I love hearing about her running experience while pregnant.
Summer bucket list: GO fishing in Minnesota

My favorite supplement is fish oil. It makes my skin, nails, and hair look awesome!
The biggest thing on my summer to do list is finish all the books that have been sitting stationary stationary on my bookshelf through my last 4 year of college!
A runner I would like to see on Marathons+Moderation is my high school AP history teacher, Harvey, who is not only a super marathoner (he is training for Badwater and is competing in the Olympic trials at the age of 37!) but also runs commemorative civil-rights related runs, such as the Gandhi salt march and the Selma to Montgomery march. He is also a really awesome guy!
I swear by NatureMade’s liqui women’s vitamin – easy to absorb. Prior to finding it, I always had a hard time taking vitamins!
