I’m currently having very good Friday the 13th luck as I was able to get on a Delta flight that left five hours earlier than my original flight. No more red eye flight means that my long weekend won’t be ruined! I’m looking forward to spending some time with a special New York City visitor during two yoga classes at Strala Yoga, a triple date filled with lots of cooking, and a long run in Central Park!
You may remember the post I did a few weeks ago regarding gym free exercise options. I was able to supplement my running workouts in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City this week with their abdominal workouts which helped me stay on track with my core work.
After receiving so many comments, tweets, and emails regarding GaiamTV, I wanted to ensure that one of you could experience it for yourself, free of charge!
This Friday the 13th is bringing readers good luck because GaiamTV and I are partnering to give one reader a three month subscription so you can enjoy their yoga videos, high intensity workouts, and films in the comfort of your own home.
Interested? There are two ways to enter:
1) Leave a comment answering one of these questions: Who is a runner you would like to see featured on the Marathon+Moderation series? What is a question you would like me to answer in an upcoming post?
2) Tweet about the giveaway: “@healthyhappier is giving away a 3 month subscription to @gaiamtv today http://p.ost.im/p/eaxTcu! Please leave a comment letting me know that you tweeted in order to gain a second entry.
Good luck! A winner will be chosen Monday night at 11pm!
I’d love to see a Marathon Moderation post from Tina at carrotsncake.com. I’m a fairly new reader, but I didn’t see any previous posts from her when I searched. Thanks for your blog! 🙂
I’m sure you’ve touched on it before but as a newer reader, I’d be interested to hear about all of your different fitness options-how you chose which to participate in frequently, how to fit them all into your schedule w/o overdoing yourself, how to do so w/o effecting training etc…
Hi would love for you to answer a question on motivation…is it puerly to keep your weight off that you lost or is there something more…what keeps you going when you have already run a marathon?!
I’m always curious about the spouses of health living bloggers. Does your husband like oatmeal and exercise too? Have your choices influenced him at all?
I’d love to see a post about great places to run in the city…
Hmmmm I might have to vote with Nancy! Does, your hubby enjoy all of the healthy food you eat, or do you cook different things sometimes?
I also tweeted about your giveaway!! This site looks too cool!
Feature Theodora from LosingWeightintheCity! She’s inspiring!
Ally: Theodora was one of the earliest guest posts for Marathons+Moderation! 🙂
I really enjoy the Marathon+ Moderation series. As for a suggested guest, how about the runner that represented the Bronx in the bourogh challengr of the 2011NYC Marathon? I only saw part of his story on tv but it seemed really inspiring. As for a question for you, I would like to read about your favorite running paths in the city or your favorite running gear.
I’d love to see a post totally focused on cross training. What the most beneficial is, how to work it in, and should you taper your cross training as well as running?
I hope you continue posting about great places in nyc. I also would like to hear how you stay motivated even in the winter.
I’d love to see a marathons & moderation post from a working mom with a young kid (or kids!). I’m not sure if there have been these before that I missed. I don’t have kids yet, but am thinking about it soon, and would love to read about the extra balancing required in order to fit a training schedule into a life with kids.
I would love to know how you stay motivated during your marathon training. Also, what kind of cross training do you do?
I would love a marathon and moderation post from http://one-twenty-five.tumblr.com/
I would love for you to talk about nutrition and long distance training/running.

I would like to hear more about how you determine your travel workouts, b/c I have a travel a lot for work, too.
I would love to hear tips & tricks (training, gear, nutrition etc) for someone who is about to run their first half marathon this summer (Rock & Roll Marathon, San Diego, CA), me 🙂
I’d love to see a moderation post from Kath (KERF)!
She hasn’t done a marathon before but I’ll see what I can do!
I’d love to hear about any struggles that arise as you work to maintain your weight loss!
I think you should feature Christin from http://www.classysouthernwife.com She just ran her first marathon in December!
What are your long term running goals? And have you ever thought about running the Boston Marathon?
I would love to hear how you balance work, working out, a husband, getting together with friends, relaxing and ‘me’ time? I’m always impressed by how easy you make it all look.
I’d love to hear about your fitness transition when you first got married (I’d love it if you wanted to write a guest post for me while I’m on my honeymoon this summer).
I’d like to see Healthy Ashley as a marathons & moderations guest poster! I’m really in need of figuring out how to stay motivated during a run and not give up mentally.
I’d like to see one from Meghann (Meals & Miles) as well. I really enjoy her blog.
I would like to hear your ideas for a weekend in NYC – what are the must do’s and what is overrated?
I always enjoy the “day in the life” posts of your typical routine.
Tweeted about it!
I think Kelly from Bneath It All would be a great Marathons + Moderation contributor. I know she hasn’t blogged in a while, but I think she’s done marathons during really busy times in her life.
April Kelly is a great idea! I’ll see what I can do!
I would love to see a Marathons & Moderation guest post from Tina at carrotsncake! Love your blog, Ashley!!
Raak thanks! I’ll reach out to Tina and see if she’s willing to contribute!
