Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks

Happy Tuesday! For most of us, today is back to reality and work. After a wonderful weekend in Miami, Bo and I had one more weekend adventure in store for us before returning to our normal routine- The Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks!

Due to my new role, I received two tickets to the party at Hudson River Park. We were lucky enough to spend the evening with my new manager and his son enjoying delicious food, amazing weather, and the best fireworks show we’ve ever seen!

IMG_2948 IMG_2949 Once we passed through the gates at 7pm, we saw some of the cities famous food trucks selling their delicious treats and BR Guest food company providing free samples.

IMG_0098 (640x480) IMG_0099 (640x480) We decided to try a free sample of Dos Caminos chips and guacamole since it is our favorite guac in the city and it had a shorter line!

IMG_0085 (640x480) IMG_0086 (640x480) IMG_0087 (640x480) IMG_0088 (640x480) We discovered the beer garden and sampled Checker Cab Blonde Ale for the first time which was AMAZING! A light wheat ale it hit the spot and cooled us off!

IMG_0090 (640x480) IMG_0091 (640x480) IMG_0092 (640x480) Between the food and drinking, we found time to enjoy a few celebrity sightings (Nic Leche, a few Yankees players, and Anthony Rap from Dazed and Confused) and fun with the games and sights.

There were even a few flyovers including the New York City Air Patrol.

IMG_0107 (640x480) By 8:55 everyone took their seats on the lawn and enjoyed the last few minutes of sunset before the fireworks began.

Sitting on our blankets only 200 feet from the speakers and music was a big difference from watching the fireworks on the streets of New York around 26th street and 9th avenue, where we enjoyed them with our friends Lauren and Casey last year. You could barely see the fireworks and you couldn’t hear the music!

Then, the music started and the 25 minute show began!

Thank you so much Macy’s for this wonderful opportunity to enjoy the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks show with your team.

That looks like so much fun! Love that you were there and we were just seeing it on TV after the DC fireworks ended! It must be so fun working for Macy’s!

@Gwen: My parents watched it on TV too!!! 🙂

This year I watched it from about the same spot you watched it last year. The roof of our apartment building was too crowded, so my boyfriend and I walked around 8th and 30th street to try and catch glimpses of the works. I would have loved to have been where you were!

@Carina: That stinnks that your roof was too crowded. How disappointing! If you ever have the opportunity or desire to pay $50 for tickets I highly recommend it!

@Mary: That’s nice that they rescheduled the fireworks but I’m sure it made waking up hard this morning!! Hope you have a great short week.
