There is no denying it, my favorite long run fuel is a peanut butter and banana open face sandwich. But, this week’s long run fuel was taken to a whole new level, in fact I felt like I was trying it again for the very first time, due to a change in bread choice!
Last week, Rudi’s Bread sent us a sampler pack of their amazing products so Bo and I could sample them as we had never had the opportunity to try Rudi’s before. All I can say is WOW! Rudi’s prides themselves on delivering a superiour product due to the superior ingredients. The company has been baking bread for 30 years and all their products are certified USDA organic and made without high fructose corn syrup, chemical preservatives, or artificial ingredients. In addition, Rudi’s Organic Bakery uses a slower baking process to retain the wholesome flavor and nutrition in their products. These elements create a perfect trifecta that allow consumers to find a grocery store bread that tastes, feels, and smells like it was just baked!
As a bit of background, I’ve been using “light” bread for as long as I can remember. Therefore, tasting the chewy, delectable, yet 100% healthy goodness of Rudi’s was refreshing and mind blowing. I do not think i’ll be able to return to light bread anytime soon. This Saturday Rudi’s 7 grain provided the base for my banana and peanut butter long run fuel and the combination was perfect. The bread, even after being toasted, was chewy and filled with flavor. After years of using 45 calorie cardboard slices for my sandwiches and toast, I think i’ve finally “seen the light.” The taste difference and pure ingredient list was more than worth the extra 90 calories, especially on long run days.
Now that we’ve had the opportunity to enjoy Rudi’s we want to make sure you can too! One lucky reader will win 3 Rudi’s coupons good for a free loaf of pread. You can be entered by visiting their site and telling me in a comment which of their products you would like to try.

My splurge is Origin's foundation and eye shadow..I feel like it's worth the extra money to know that it's all natural and animal-friendly.
I save on mascara (usually whatever's on sale) and by using a dark eyeshadow as eye-liner too.
So fun! You are already in my blogroll, (and please don't enter me as I got the same swag!) but my favorite beauty splurges are 1) Kerastase Oleo Relaxe Hair Masque and 2) SPACE NK's detoxifying seaweed bath salts & soak… (seriously awesome after either a weekend of drinking and/or a really tough workout. You sweat in the tub and I usually need a nap afterward!) Also I don't know whether it's proven or not, but I always feel quite a bit skinnier the next day. 🙂
I also love a good face cream. I'm still (slowly) using up a sample I got of Fresh's Creme Ancienne… but contemplating splurging on it when I run out.
So there's 3 for you (and now you know why I'm broke!)
