My 2013 Fitness Goals

This year, my resolutions, or goals, are broken up into groups including fitness, personal, and professional.

While 2012 was a wonderful year for my running career, this year I’m excited to continue speed work and push myself in new ways most notably, a triathlon. I’ve stood on the sidelines for the past 2 years, cheering on Bo or Theodora during their races and this year I’m ready to conquer my fear of the pool and broken chains.

2013 Athletic Goals

It won’t be easy and I’m sure the triathlon, especially, will challenge me but I’m excited fro something new! I’m hoping to complete at least one of these, the half marathon, by the end of March since Bo and I both made it into the New York City Half Marathon thanks to the lottery luck this year! The race is on March 17th which gives me a good 8 weeks of training once I return these crazy few weeks of travel! Speed work will be the perfect way to sweat when I’m in Geneva in 2 weeks!

LOVE these goals! I literally JUST signed up for the NJ half marathon like a minute ago, so we are speedworking it, and running long, as soon as you get back!

Now those are some serious goals girlfriend! weight training is my thing, but lately I’ve been incorporating running into my workouts….I don’t really like it now because i’m so out of shape but I hope that things will get better as time passes. I’m looking forward to following along while you conquer your 2013 fitness goals!

    Hey Ashley!
Great goals… Let me know – if you want – when you’re in Geneva!
Happy to show you some great places for your training or, to change a little bit, to guide you in the mountains for some sky running to the close summits!

I love your idea of having fitness goals for 2013!! I have three of the same; complete my first triathlon, run a 2.10 half and run a 4.45 marathon, although I am not sure that my head or body is ready for a marathon this year, so maybe it will be an ongoing goal. I would love one day to run a sub 2 hour half!! Good luck with your goals!

Long-time reader, first-time commenter–those look like great goals, Ashley! I made the transition from solely running to triathloning this summer, and I’m totally hooked; you will love it! Which tri are you thinking about doing?

Awesome goals! I’m also trying for a sub 2:10 half this year. I keep feeling the pull towards multi-sport events like triathlons and duathlons, maybe that will be a 2014 goal for me.

Hi Ashley! I got accepted for the NYC Half too! I’m so excited because I’ll be there for work and also get to run an awesome race!! 🙂

Hopefully I didn’t miss this elsewhere, but are you planning on sharing some of your personal and/or professional goals? As someone who is in a similar career stage, I would love to know what your ideas are on continuing to be better at work and play!
